Gnostice Print2eDoc is a document conversion software that is installed as a "printer" on PCs running on Windows operating systems.

Acting as a software printer, Print2eDoc can take printer output from Windows applications and create files in formats, such as PDF, BMP, GIF, JPEG, PNG, and TIFF.

For example, you can convert a Microsoft^® Word document to a PDF file or a TIFF file or a file in any of the other supported formats by issuing the print command from the application and then selecting Print2eDoc from the list of available printers.

Although Print2eDoc is available for any application that supports printing, it optionally integrates with Microsoft^® Office applications, such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint^®.

Print2eDoc has special settings that are specific to each output format.

For example, when converting a Microsoft^® Word document to PDF, you can choose to convert "Comments" to "Notes" (note annotations). When converting an Excel file, you have the option of adding bookmarks for the worksheets.

Converted documents can also be automatically e-mailed as attachments to specified recipients.

Print2eDoc provides a rich set of options to specify exactly how the output document should appear, what it should contain, how its images should be compressed, etc. As there are different requirements recurring different times, Print2eDoc supports "Document Creation Profiles," which allow users to save their conversion settings.

This relieves users from the need to remember and specify the exact settings each time. The same profile can be used on multiple conversion jobs. A user needs to select a profile name and Print2eDoc will take care of everything else. Saved profiles are also available for modification and improvement.

Before signing off, we would like to mention that there is an SDK, Gnostice Print2eDoc SDK by its full name, which is a COM component targeted at software developers. Basically, it allows software developers to programmatically control and automate the creation of electronic documents (using Print2eDoc) in the software applications they create.
