Preview/Designer Templates in Print2eDoc

Learn about the latest feature addition in Print2eDoc
By Harish Kumar

The Preview/Designer window of Print2eDoc allows you to add a lot of extra document features such as form fields, labels, shapes, links, and notes to your converted documents.

Until now, there was no way of applying these features en masse to your converted documents. In other words, you had to create each item manually every time you converted a document.

Recently, we introduced the concept of templates to Preview/Designer. This allowed you to save all extra document features in a named template. The advantage of templates is you could select an existing template and then choose to apply the template to the converted document. All extra document features in the template will then be added to the converted document in a single step!

Creating a template

To create a template, add all extra document features in the Preview/Designer. Next, click on the template Save icon on the toolbar. A Save Template As..." dialog will pop up. Enter a name and select the OK button on the dialog. A new template will then be available from the templates list.

Applying a template

When the Preview/Designer is displayed, display the templates list and select a template. The readymade set of extra document features from the template will be applied to the converted document.

Deleting a template

If you wish to remove a named template, select the template from the list and click the Delete icon on the toolbar. A dialog box asking you to confirm your decision will pop up. Select Yes if you wish to delete the template.
