One size does not fit all and quite so with software. That is why Print2eDoc provides document creation profiles. Document creation profiles allow you to store document conversion settings under a name, which can be recalled later for reuse or modification.

If you are shipping a product that uses Print2eDoc-Print2eDoc SDK capabilities, then you would want to ship some pre-built profiles that are more suited to the needs of the product. For this purpose, Print2eDoc SDK provides a utility called Profile Configurator (ProfileConfigUtility.exe) in the folder %ProgramFiles%\Gnostice\Print2eDoc SDK\ProfileConfigurator.

The main interface of this utility is the same Advanced Document Creation Properties dialog of Print2eDoc. However, it allows you to modify all profiles, even read-only ones, on the system.

When you start the application, you will be presented with a dialog box that will ask you the location of the Deployment Kit. In this location, a sample set of profile configuration files, namely Profiles.gtf and WatermarkProfiles.xml, are stored.

After specifying the location of the deployment kit, you can click the Configure button to display the Advanced Document Creation Properties dialog. Here you can:

  1. Modify existing profiles
  2. Modify existing profiles but save changes under new names, that is create new profiles
  3. Delete profiles

If you feel that users should not be allowed to delete or save changes to a particular profile, then save that profile under a name enclosed in square brackets, as in:

[Default Settings]

When you click the OK button, the profile configuration files will be modified as per the changes you had made on the dialog. Later, when the deployment kit is used by your application's setup, the modified profile configuration files from the Deployment Kit folder will be installed on the target computer. Your users or your application will then be able to use the customized pre-built profiles.
