| Point-of-view calibration |
 |
PathQuest provides a unique feature of configuring the point-of-view of the map shown on the kiosk screen to match the actual view of the facility the user will see, standing at the position of the kiosk. The point-of-view calibration can be done for each kiosk, independent of another. This feature greatly enhances the effectiveness of the system in informing users of where they are in the facility and guiding them to their destination. |
| |
| Guided path, with directions, landmarks |
 |
Once the user chooses a destination in the facility, PathQuest provides detailed information with directions and landmarks to get to the destination. Showing path, directions and landmarks makes the system highly effective in guiding users to their destinations. Additionally, showing landmarks can help the user choose between two destination points of the same type, as the user may want to stop by at other points of interest along the way. |
| |
| Unlimited language support |
 |
PathQuest provides for adding and setting up of any number of new languages for the kiosk user interface. The administrator has to execute a simple wizard to add a language and input text in that language for different entities of the user interface. Kiosk users will then automatically get the option of selecting that language. Excellent support for languages makes the kiosk extremely versatile in serving at facilities that cater to an international user base. |
| |
| Extend and update anytime |

|
PathQuest provides all the features necessary to enable facility administrators to add new languages, add, update and delete information and to re-configure kiosks any time. All these capabilities are supported as standard features so the kiosk can serve concurrent information, as the facility undergoes changes. |
| |
| Zero client side software installation |
 |
PathQuest is designed to be installed and configured from a central server or administration location. This ensures the time and effort, required to get the system up and running, is kept to a minimum. Additionally, it keeps a lot of installation and configuration troubles out. |
| |
| Zero client side software maintenance |
 |
PathQuest does not require or have any client side (kiosk end) maintenance of the software components. Keeping maintenance tasks centralized and at the server end makes applying updates and upgrading software extremely easy, fast and convenient. |
| |
| Centralized control of clients |
 |
Kiosks can be configured, switched on, switched off, restarted, and the main facility information updated from remotely located control centers. This feature provides administrators easy and powerful control over the network of kiosks in the facility to ensure prompt, trouble free operations. |
| |
| Centralized failure management |
 |
System failures can be monitored at real-time and most can be acted on to remedy, all from a remote central administration client. This enables administrators to detect, diagnose and fix failures speedily and greatly reduce inconvenience to users. |
| |
| Minimum Go-live process |
 |
PathQuest is designed to be easy to configure by facility administrators/IS personnel, without having to require any program level customization. This means that, once the information to be input to PathQuest has been compiled, facilities can get self service information kiosks installed and running at their facilities in a matter of hours. |
| |
| Full control over displayed information |
 |
Facility maps can be defined leaving out restricted areas and paths of the facility and PathQuest can be easily configured to show only the publicly useable paths, thereby assisting in the security and restricted access needs of the facility. |
