Features

PathQuest kiosks are connected to and managed from a centrally placed computer. On this computer, the PathQuest Administrator Console is installed.

The Administrator Console allows the facility administrator or his personnel to manage the PathQuest kiosks.

This application has several modules, namely, Way-Finder Module, Information Module, Advertisement Module, Feedback Module, and Report Generator.

These modules allow the administrator to configure, monitor and maintain the kiosks.

PathQuest Advantages

Some of the special features of the PathQuest are:

• Automatic Map Calibration

  If you change the location of the kiosk or its orientation, you do not have to modify the maps to reflect the change.

  The facility administrator can simply specify the new location and orientation in the Admininistration Console and kiosk users will see maps that are automatically adjusted to the new setting.

• Unlimited Multi-Language Support

  The information displayed by the kiosk can be provided in an unlimited number of languages.

  The Administration Console has a wizard that allows the facility administrator to enter text for a particular language. Once completed, users will be able to interact with kiosk using the new language option.

• Zero Client-Side Configuration

  All PathQuest kiosks are managed from a central location. Once installed and connected to a central computer (that runs the Administrator Console), the kiosks require no further configuration.

• Centralized Maintenance and Management

  Kiosks can be switched on, configured, restarted, and switched off from the Administration Console.

  The Administration Console allows the administrator to configure the touchscreen menus in the kiosks. The Administration Console has a simple and clean advertisement engine that can display advertisements on the kiosks. It also generates usage reports to aid appraisal and decision-making.

Airport Kiosk

As an airport kiosk, PathQuest can answer questions such as:

• What is the time of flight?
• Where do I check in?
• Where is the coffee shop?
• Where is the duty-free shop?
• What items or brands can I purchase duty free? And, do they have any good deals running now?
• Are there any good hotels nearby?
• What are the room rent rates?
• Do they have any taxi services?
• Where can I rent a car?
• What are the tourist spots around this place?
• How do I complain to the management?

Gnostice has successfully installed PathQuest on over 28 kiosks for GHIAL at the airport. The self-service kiosks are used by thousands of visitors and passengers every day.

PathQuest has been used to provide self-service information services to visitors and also to receive feedback from them. PathQuest kiosks have can be configured to display way-finding information, dispense information about facility services, and also show commercial information (advertisements). The touchscreen kiosks are placed in different locations inside the facility where visitors can access them. Facility personnel manage the kiosks from a central location.

Like an ATM kiosk, PathQuest kiosks use a combination of menu options to interact with the visitor and provide necessary information. The system also accepts feedback from visitors and routes the feedback e-mail to concerned personnel in the facility. The system also sends an automated e-mail to the visitor so that the response to the feedback can be tracked.

In a shopping mall, PathQuest can answer queries such as

FAQs

Here are answers to frequently asked questions about PathQuest.

• Do I have to purchase each module separately?
  PathQuest is a complete package and all modules are integrated. However, you can purchase the system with only a few of the available modules.
• Are there any restrictions on how the kiosk is oriented?
  You can place the kiosk in any location or angle. Whenever the location or the orientation is changed, the facility administrator just needs to specify the new settings in the Administrator Console. Kiosk users will then see the maps in total synchronization with the new surroundings.
• Are there any limits on the number of storeys (floors) in the facility?
  PathQuest can handle any number of floors in a facility. It can also identify lifts, escalators, and stairs in each floor. Continuity will be seamlessly maintained when the focus on the map changes from one floor to another.
• How do I configure the questions into the Feedback Tracker?
  The Administrator Console allows the facility administrator to create a questionnaire based on an hierarchical tree with multiple categories and subcategories. The responses received from your patrons will be stored in a database along with the person's name, phone number, and address if required.
